Emergency Communications

THE BEST THING EVER BUILT. AND THE WORST…
The modern smart phone is the best communications device ever built, arguably. It’s simple enough to be given to a child of ten or twelve years, and complex enough to function as a mini computer, packed with information at the user’s fingertips. With a smart phone, you can instantly communicate with loved ones via voice, text, email, social media, and direct links like Face Time. You can instantly send photos a variety of different ways, clues that could lead a loved one right to you if need be. Snap a picture of a cross street sign and send it to a loved one, even if you can’t talk, and hope that they get the hint as to where you are. The possibilities are endless!

On the other hand, the cell phone is the worst communications device ever invented. People depend on this little gadget, and when its battery is dead, the lines are down, or there is no cell phone signal, people get lost, panic, and are unsure of what to do. We put so much stock in those few ounces of glass and plastic that some of us can barely function without cell phones. In the fictional scenario in the beginning of this document, what is the father to do without cell phone communications? What would you do? We will show you what to do. Stay tuned…
