PRIMITIVE WEAPON NUMBER 3 – THE SPEAR

The spear is an ancient and primitive weapon that survived for millennia, and thrived even after the origin of firearms. The spear, and its derivatives, the halberd and pike were once used to keep throngs of charging soldiers at bay. It still brings to the table what it did 1000+ years ago – it keeps hostiles at a distance. While you can easily make your own spear, they can be bought brand new from Cold Steel manufacturing, which makes a complete line of medieval and primitive weapons at extremely affordable prices. Spears are excellent for:
- Keeping wild animals at bay – spears are still used to hunt wild boar in some parts of the world.
- Keep aggressive attackers at a good distance.
- Excellent at defeating body armor, since the spear point is often razor sharp and you can put lots of energy behind a spear thrust.
