Water Carriers

On the move, such as when hiking, patrolling, or bugging out, the situation changes somewhat. In this situation, we must carry the water we need to drink on our very person. The weight of water being what it is, no one can really carry more than a couple days’ worth in the best case, and so we will still need to find water and purify it, but the method in which you carry your water needs to be looked at. A proper water carrier is an essential piece of gear, more so than even a firearm in some cases. The water carrier you choose needs to be able to accomplish several tasks at the same time:

  • It needs to protect the water from contamination.
  • It needs to protect the water from spillage.
  • It needs to distribute the load of the water over your body, making it easier to carry.
  • It needs to be easily refillable.

Simply carrying a water bottle in one of your pockets meets almost none of these criteria; not only does a water bottle possess a small mouth making it hard to fill, few disposable water bottles contain leak proof tops that will securely hold the precious fluid inside without leakage. Therefore, you need to look into a water carrier.
